Hard Fescue

A densely tufted, cool season, long-lived perennial bunchgrass with a massive, fibrous, shallow root system. It is adapted to a wide range of soil conditions except for standing wet or alkaline soils. Because of its very fine texture it mixes well with wildflowers to develop a (meadow effect. Hard Fescue will take some shade and has good drought tolerance. Hard Fescue performs best in the northern U.S. and Canada and in the cool coastal areas of the Pacific Northwest and the Northeast U.S, also at high elevations. It will grow with supplemental irrigation in the southern and arid regions. Wildflower mixtures, Erosion control, low maintenance turf. The sowing rate is 5.0 Lbs to 7.0 Lbs per 1,000 Square Feet.
