Globe Gilia

102144.jpg

Eye-catching form and color set this wildflower apart from the rest. Each long stem presents a ball of tiny blue flowers at its tip. The densely flowered globes, which are about an inch in diameter, are numerous and create quite a showy display. An easy-care plant tolerating lots of heat and little water once established. So versatile it will perform in full sun, part shade or even full shade. Useful in the mixed border as contrast for bright yellow and orange flowers, such as Tidy Tips (Layia platyglossa). Also at home in a rock garden with California Poppy (Eschscholzia californica).
