For a splashy summer display, add the vibrant pink-flowered Catchfly. This no-fuss wildflower, a California native, has clusters of showy five-petaled flowers atop one- to two-foot stems. Let it loose in masses for a lovely meadow planting by itself or paired with California Poppy (Eschscholzia californica). Try Catchfly in a rock garden with White Yarrow (Achillea millefolium) and Rockrose (Cistus). Or use as a bright accent in a sunny or partially shaded mixed border with the iris-like Blue Eyed Grass (Sisyrinchium bellum).
