Iris-like in appearance, Blue Eyed Grass adds a valuable grassy texture to the wildflower mix. Purple flowers are about a half-inch across. A native to California's coast and oak woodlands. Provides the perfect textural foil for other coastal performers in a sunny border, such as the low-growing Tidy Tips (Layia platyglossa) and the more upright Chinese Houses (Collinsia heterophylla) and White Yarrow (Achillea millefolium.) Drought tolerance makes it a great choice for arid rock gardens, where it will complement other grasses and ground hugging creepers.
