With its low, spreading growth and abundant tiny white blooms, Alyssum, Carpet of Snow is one of the most useful additions to the garden. A real help for coastal gardens as it tolerates the wind and spray. Wonderful emerging from cracks in stone walls and terraces or between boulders in rock gardens. Fast grower along walkways or at the front of the border with its purple cousin, Alyssum, Royal Carpet (Lobularia maritima). Let it drip from a hanging basket or container packed with the cheery purple and yellow Johnny Jump-Up (Viola cornuta).
